What is included in a trailer hanger kit?
A complete trailer hanger kit typically includes front and rear spring hangers, an equalizer (on tandem-axle kits), shackle links, shackle bolts with nylock nuts, and grease-fitting bushings. Single-axle kits have two hangers per side; tandem-axle kits have two outer hangers plus a center equalizer.
What axle ratings do your trailer suspension kits fit?
2,000 lb, 3,500 lb, 5,200 lb, 6,000 lb and 7,000 lb axles. Spring eyes are typically 1-3/4" wide (the US standard for double-eye leaf springs). 2" spring-eye versions are available on request.
What's the difference between a single-axle and tandem-axle hanger kit?
A single-axle hanger kit has two spring hangers per side (front and rear). A tandem-axle hanger kit has three mounting points per side — two outer hangers plus a center equalizer that lets both axles flex together over bumps and distribute load between them.
How do I know if my trailer suspension is bad?
Watch for uneven tire wear, the trailer leaning to one side, broken or sagging leaf springs, worn shackle bushings, cracked hangers, and excessive bounce when towing. Inspect hangers, springs and shackles annually and replace worn parts in matched left/right sets.
Can I upgrade my trailer suspension to a higher axle rating?
You can, but the entire system must be upgraded together — axle, springs, hanger kit, U-bolts, wheels and tires — and the trailer frame must support the new GVWR. We supply matched hanger and suspension kits up to 7K to make a complete upgrade possible.
